History

The Silva-Bouchon family, originally from France, arrived in the Colchagua Valley in 1892. They were pioneers in planting vineyards with noble French grape varieties and have been making unique wines of excellent quality ever since. Santa Tierra wines are the expression of perfect terroir that these varieties have found in this distant land in southern Chile.

The Andes Mountains

With an altitude of more than 4,500 meters above sea level and a permanent snow cap, the Andes Mountains have a strong cooling influence on the climate of the Colchagua Valley.

Natural Conditions

The Colchagua Valley’s Mediterranean climate generates perfect conditions for viticulture and the production of fine wines.

The Coastal Zone

The cold Humboldt Current has a tremendous influence along the coast of the Colchagua Valley and generates the ideal climate for producing white wines.
